This piece comes framed and was from a salvaged stump that was beign disguarded.  Since it was a fresh cut I had to wait several years before starting the printing process becuase it was too wet to be sanded down.  Usually with these tree prints I focus on the annual rings however on this particular tree stump my intention was to map the natural drying process and record the cracks otherwise known as "checking".  The pattern captured from the relief print making process is truly mesmorizing.
