The Memory of a Tree
Each print is made directly from the cross section of a tree, revealing the rings that record its passage through time. The resulting image is both a portrait and a physical trace - a record of growth, place, time and a life that has already passed.

Cracked Wood Print white ink on black paper 48" x 48" inches This piece was made from a salvaged wood stump from a friends yard. Instead of mapping the annual rings I wanted to capture the natural drying process. The final print captured this magnificent cracked pattern.
